The Kathleen Browne Festival was initiated by a group of local business persons from Bridgetown Co. Wexford Ireland whom have an interest in history and whom wish to develop and run a Literature, Arts and crafts festival annually in commemoration to the life of a local woman Kathleen A Browne.
The festival will be held in Doyle’s yard behind Red Books Bookshop and Molly & Dolly’s restaurant. We will hold talks by guest speakers; Craft stalls, an Art exhibition which will showcase a visual arts exhibition and performance based Art by local, national and international artists. There will be live music by various artists, and a barbeque which will be run by Molly & Dolly’s restaurant. This is a very exciting time for us designing and organising this event in which we know will be a most enjoyable experience for all.
The official launch was held at Molly & Dolly’s restaurant in Bridgetown at 06:00pm Friday 15th June, and was launched by Wexford mayor Jim Moore. Following the launch there was a table quiz in Molly & Dolly’s restaurant which was a great night and a huge success. A special thanks to Wexford Mayor Jim Moore, Cllr Ger Carthy, Cllr Michael Roche and Ger Mackey from Wexford Co. Council. Also a special thanks to everyone who came to the launch.
